Below is a drawing of a typical cross-section for a manufactured home. Note the fill under the home to divert stormwater runoff away from the crawlspace. Also note that, in this case, the pier footings were dug into the natural ground. However, should the footings need to be set into the fill dirt, then an engineered fill, complete with laboratory in-situ testing would be required.
