Although not specifically part of the foundation design and inspection, ancillary issues such as this one will be noted. Obviously, the plumber should hang the drain pipe using hanging strapping.

In this view, the concrete footing has been completely missed by the pier. This will have to be fixed.

This is why the surface runoff outside the home must be directed around the home and not under it. Eventually, this moving water will scour out the soil below parts of this footing, thus damaging its load-carrying capacity.

Good anchorage in longitudinal direction. Also, these have been cast in the concrete perimeter footing.

FHA requires the piers to be mortared. One way to practically do this is to apply a polypropylene fiber-reinforced masonry coating to the entire outer surface of the pier. (as shown here)

Steel strap anchor is too steep. The maximum angle should be 45 degrees.

FHA requires a rigid underpinning material such as masonry, steel decking (shown here), or pressure-treated wood.

this view shows a pier that has been properly coated with 1/4" of masonry coating (sometimes a waterproofing coating) that has been reinforced with polypropylene fibers (obtainable from almost any ready-mix concrete company).

FHA requires a permanent foundation for the piers. This one will not pass inspection.
